Measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccines can result in some side effects that may vary in severity. While the risk of side-effects is extremely small, they can occur within 7 to 12 days after the shot. They may occur faster after a second dose is administered.

Rubella normally lasts between 48 and 72 hours and will cause fatigue, joint pain, fever, or inflammation of the brain in severe cases.
